Since his debut in the “Amadeo Roldan” Festival in Cuba, 1998, Pianist Amaury Morales has performed widely in Latin-America, the U.S. and Asia, performing in major venues. The recipient of many awards, Amaury was awarded three times in a row with the “Dr. Mark Cooley” award for outstanding achievement, and twice with the “Leon Jimenez” Award for Promising National Icon. Amaury has received recognition in competitions, such as 3rd place in the “Latin-American music” Competition (2001), 2nd Place in the “Competition for Interpreters” (2003), and 1st place in the “Silverman” Competition (2009). As a soloist, Amaury has performed with orchestras like the CMU Baroque ensemble and the CMU Philharmonic Orchestra. Raised in the Dominican Republic, Amaury began playing piano at the Institute of Culture and Art, where he received the highest honors in Piano, Music theory and History. He received Bachelor’s degree “Magna Cum Laude” at the Boston Conservatory, and Masters Degree at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, where He resides.
