James has always loved music from an early age. He began playing drums, keyboards and organ at the age of 7 and continued his education by graduating with a Bachelors degree in Music Education concentration on trumpet. His musical influences include Stevie Wonder, Richard Smallwood, Bach, and Miles Davis. James's favorite thing about music is that it’s universal and it’s like speaking another langauge and his favorite thing about teaching music is seeing my students succeed and being able to go to college with music scholarships. One of his favorite teaching experiences was teaching 30 children who had never played in a drumline before how to play those different instruments. When taking lessons with James you can expect organization, fun and to learn.
