About Me

Hi! My name is Antoinette, I am a Euphonium player but I play all brass! I also play Saxophone! I am an alumni of Walkersville High School, during my time at WHS I took as many music classes as I could. I participated in many ensembles such as concert band, choir, marching band, jazz band, percussion ensemble, pit orchestra, and string orchestra. My favorite ensembles were Marching band and Concert band. In marching band I served as Brass Captain in 2015, 2016 and 2017. In concert band I was first chair euphonium in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Outside of high school I marched the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps based out of Rockford, Illinois as a Euphonium player. I got to travel the US and perform in the top notch stadiums such as; Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. I have studied Euphonium and Tuba with Brian Hinkley, the director of wind ensemble at Hood College, MD and Simon Wildman, the director of low brass at Shepherd University, WV. I currently attend Frederick Community College and am listed as a Music major. I teach at Oakdale High School during marching season as Low Brass Technician and Visual Staff, and I also teach Oakdale High School's Indoor Percussion as Visual Director. I hope I can share my knowledge of musicianship and leadership throughout lessons! I also hope I can help my students become better musicians by understanding basic music theory of the instrument and of music all together.

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

During the first lesson I will go over basic music theory and a quick lesson on the instrument and how it works. I will then start with buzzing and learning the proper air support for the instrument. Then we will move onto embouchure exercizes and start with long tones.

I studied with Brian Hinkley and Simon Wildman for a total of 4 years.

Performing Experience:

I have been performing for a total of 10 years.

Experience Teaching:

I have been teaching private lessons since 2016 and I started teaching at Oakdale High School in the fall of 2018.
