Michael began playing drums at the age of 7. Over the years, he developed his skills further by playing in the high school band where he performed in the concert band and jazz bands. He gained performance experience by playing in several rock bands by playing at such venues as the Cain's Ballroom, Hunt Club and has opened with acts such as the Randy Rogers Band and Cross Canadian Ragweed. Though Michael can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are Rock and jazz which had great influence on his style of playing. Michael loves music because it is a gratifying and a creative outlet and loves teaching music because children and young adults can benefit from its wonderful creativity.
