Katherine has always loved music from an early age. She began playing the piano at the age of six, after begging her mom for lessons. She could play by ear and often played commercial jingles after hearing them on the TV at age 4. Katherine began playing the flute in the 5th grade, then switched to oboe in high school. She continued her education by gaining a Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance with a Minor in Piano Performance. Katherine spent a year in London studying at Trinity College of Music now called Trinity Laban. She has held the position of Oboe 3 with the OKC Philharmonic for 20 years! The piano is her passion and she loves teaching kids. Having young kids of her own has kept her youthful and fun! Katherine's favorite thing about music is the beauty and joy it brings to an individual. Music can express what one cannot find words for. Her favorite thing about teaching piano is connecting with students and watching them grow into musicians.
