Hello! My name is Gabe, and I'm an artist originally from Las Vegas. I've classically trained in viola from the ages of 11 to 18-taking private lessons and performing in my school's orchestra. However, my main passions are guitar, bass, and songwriting! I've been playing guitar and bass for nine years now, and seriously songwriting for four. I've spent the past four years in Madison, WI, studying creative writing at UW in order to hone my songwriting abilities. Currently, I'm working on my own music, with intentions to re-enroll at CSU soon! I enjoy playing and teaching across a wide variety of material. This ranges from classical finger style to modern pop. I enjoy working within the student's goals and preferences for material selection. I've found that, both in life and when building an instrumental foundation, it's important to expose yourself to as much as possible. To quote the wise uncle Iroh "it is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If you take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale." I believe that music first, foremost, and above all else should be fun. Because If you're not enjoying it, what's the point? From me, expect a relaxed instructor focused on strong fundamentals and incremental improvement. I hope to be playing with you soon!
