I started on bass guitar when I was 16. I took up the guitar 20 years ago. I've played with bands throughout my life and participated in countless jam sessions. For me, music is about fun and self-expression. If it sounds good it is good.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Expect a focus on making the instrument accessible, improvization, ear training, and learning the songs you're interested in playing. I believe that rhythm and feel are the most important areas to focus on from the beginning.
Formal Education:
I have a BA in English from San Francisco State, and an elementary teaching credential from California State University East Bay. I played bass in my highschool jazz band.
Private Education:
I took bass lessons when I started. I took guitar classes for many years.
Performing Experience:
I've performed in bands through out my life.
Experience Teaching:
I have seven years of experience as an elementary teacher. I taught guitar in after school programs, as well as workshops, and I've had private students.
