About Me
Hi, my name is Hali and I am a guitarist, pianist, and ukulele player from the Pacific Island called Guam. I have been a musician for 7 years and an instructor for 4 years. I am a senior at the College of Charleston and have played in the Latin American Ensemble and traveled to different countries to hear different kinds of music. I love going to local concerts in Charleston, and I have performed a few times locally as well. My teaching style can best be described as patient and productive. My favorite thing about teaching is showing students that practicing music can be enjoyable! I primarily teach piano and guitar, but I can also teach ukulele because it was my first instrument I learned. My approach as a teacher is to tailor musical instruction to my students' tastes while integrating new techniques. Thank you for considering me as a music teacher. Hope to meet you soon!

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
We will work on gradually improving piano technique and the student's repertoire at the same time. I want to make learning enjoyable so that the student can make progress effectively and make the most of their practice time. Expect to focus in the following topics: posture; chords; scales; song exercises; reading musical notation (sheet music); finger technique; memory exercises (mnemonics); and ear training.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
We will work on gradually improving guitar technique and the student's repertoire at the same time. I want to make learning enjoyable so that the student can make progress effectively and make the most of their practice time. Expect to focus in the following topics: chords; strumming and fingerpicking techniques; posture; scales; song exercises; reading TAB notation; and ear training.
