About Me

Shane began playing guitar at the age of 11 years old. Over the years, he developed his skills further by recording, playing live and of course, teaching. He gained performance experience in the Austin area by playing at such venues as Saxon Pub and with acts such as Jeska & The Vanity Project and Hector Ward & The Big Time. Though Shane can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are blues, funk and rock which had great influence on his style of playing. Shane loves music because it is constant process of growth and renewal and loves teaching music because it is an opportunity to give back to others what has inspired me, in hopes that it will inspire students to find their own unique voice for expression. What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Lessons that are fun, challenging and informative that emphasize theory, technique and tone, all in the context of song structure and arrangement.

Formal Education:

Bachelor of Science in Recording Industry Production and Technology from Middle Tennessee State University

Performing Experience:

Spent 15 years in the Nashville, Tn area playing in multiple bands from many different genres. Also was a staff musician at the Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tn. Moved back home to Austin Tx in the fall of 2015 and currently writing, recording and performing with Austin bands Jeska & The Vanity Project and Hector Ward & The Big Time.

Experience Teaching:

Nearly 10 years teaching experience at the Jan Williams School of Music & Theatre in Brentwood, Tn. Have also worked for Music & Arts in Sunset Valley.
