About Me

Hi! I'm Frank, and I'm originally from Houston, Texas! I recently moved to Chicago and so far I'm loving it! I've taught lessons for more than a few years now and I can truly say I love it thoroughly. I primarily teach trumpet but I can teach all brass and voice as well. I pride myself on being an engaging and invested teacher! I'm always fun and supportive, but believe that I'll push you like you need. My students always see great growth and success when they buy into the work we do together. Back in Texas, I had multiple students make all-state and multiple years in a row I have had students compete at the National Trumpet Competition. If you're looking for a knowledgeable teacher who also knows how to bring the fun, you're looking at the right guy!

What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Learn 2-3 solos a year. I will keep tabs on your development and ask you to come to each lesson with one or two goals accomplished. Sight reading duets every lesson, yes sight reading *horror music plays* I may assign fundamentals here and there but only as needed Performance opportunities if desired, competitions if ready, auditions for groups

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

We will start from what you want to achieve. Are you more of a pop/rock singer. Are you musical theatre nut. Do you want to go the classical route? What you want will influence that path we take. In general, expect to learn 2 songs a semester.

Formal Education:

Bachelor of Arts in Music from Sam Houston State University. Class of 22'

Private Education:

5 years of private lessons in college for trumpet. 7 years of private lessons with a pro opera singer in Houston.

Performing Experience:

Active freelance musician around the Houston area for multiple years. Weddings, church services, private events, galas. Orchestral experience with The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra 2 Opera experience with Opera in The Heights and Lyric Star Theatre Musical Theatre experience with Art Factory and Stageworks
