Hello fellow voice nerds! My name is Taryn and I have been obsessed with singing since I was a little girl. I graduated from Guilford College with a Music Performance degree but I knew there was something missing. Now I'm studying voice on my own and I love sharing what I have learned and continue to learn! If you are nervous about singing, or have been told you should quit, I'm here to tell you that everyone can and should sing, and I hope I can help you believe in your own power. I grew up listening to Christina Aguilera, Brandy, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey, to name a few. I was in choir from 7th grade and participated in Mars Hill and other choir festivals. Now I appreciate the mix and balance of singers like Tori Kelly, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. I really emphasize ear training and music theory. You must train your ear to have the musical freedom to sing in different keys, a cappella, and to cooperate with others. And you must practice every day in a healthy way. The only way to see the progress you want is to work! You must put in the effort to do the exercises correctly, and to let go of your fears of failure or embarrassment to have complete control of your voice. Happy singing!
