Hi, my name is Dylan and I am a drum set player at Berklee College of music. I have been playing the drums since I was 9 years old and am passionate about all styles of music. At Berklee I am studying jazz performance, though I also have fluency in rock, funk, fusion, marching drums and some orchestral percussion. I have played with a variety of groups all around Colorado, the Bitter End in NYC, and the International Memphis Blues Challenge. Drumming is a language. When you are speaking a language fluently you are not thinking about each individual word you are saying. Instead, the words flow effortlessly from you without deep concentration; drumming should feel the same. In addition to getting in touch with the instrument and developing drumming language, I emphasize technical ability, a knowledge of different musical styles, repertoire development, and an ability to read sheet music.
