About Me

I grew up in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, where I started playing classical guitar at my local elementary school when I was seven years old. I was immediately in love with the guitar, and soon became enamored with blues and rock guitar, and the spirit and freedom of these genres. In middle school I began playing and performing jazz as well. Learning to play and perform the guitar has been one of the most liberating aspects of my life, and as I have progressed over these 14 years, I have come to love sharing that joy with others.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Studying with me students can expect to learn how to improvise in a manner inspired by my favorite guitarists, the likes of David Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix, and blues greats such as BB king. Guitar is one of my biggest passions and I hope to pass that passion to my students by helping them learn the songs and techniques they're interested in and what excites them about music and guitar. I hope to teach very strong fundamentals in tone and rhythm to set a good foundation for learning any types of music.

Formal Education:

B.A in history and philosophy and minor in music from Colorado College. At Colorado College studied Jazz guitar with Matt Horanzy, and bluegrass guitar with Keith Reed. A.A. degree in liberal arts from Bard High School Early College

Private Education:

Studied classical guitar for 7 years under Moaz Ezra. Studied blues and rock guitar for 7 years with Tomas Donker. Studied Jazz guitar for 6 years at Third Street Music School.

Performing Experience:

Played in the Minneapolis deep blues and roots festival on June 6th 2025. Played in the Colorado college llamapalooza music fetsival in 2022 and 2023. Sat in at smalls jazz club in NYC, played at various local venues in Colorado springs, Lulu's downstairs, Vultures bar, and Greenline grill.

Experience Teaching:

Have taught private clients in NYC since 2020, as well as assisted teaching peers alongside jazz instructor Ricky Sweum in the school jazz band. Taught my good friend Andreas to play guitar, who can now play professional gigs.
