Hi, my name is Madelynn and I am a singer and songwriter from St. Louis, MO and living in New Orleans. I have been a student of music for 11 years. My musical influences include anything from musical theater and jazz to hard rock to funk and soul and I also enjoy opera. My teaching style can best be described as eclectic, individualized, and encouraging. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I want to help you explore the full depth and complexities of your voice. In my lessons, you can expect to learn music theory and technique, as well as performance skills and emotional expression. I like to tell my students that they can learn to sing anything! My favorite thing about teaching is seeing people discover just how much their voice can do. My favorite performance was performing my capstone of original music for my degree program. My students love that I am willing to tackle any song they present to me. I primarily teach contemporary vocals, but I can also teach musical theater, jazz, and classical.
