She began singing when she was very young in school and started studying voice pedagogy at the age of 26 and continued her education by getting several voice certifications through New York Vocal Coaching. Her musical influences include Tori Kelly, Adele, and other Pop and also theater icons. Melissa's favorite thing about music is the joy and expressionism of oneself, and her favorite thing about teaching music is seeing a student flourish with something new or unexpected. One of her favorite teaching experiences was helping a very shy and non musically inclined individual start gaining musicality in pitch, rhythm and also confidence.
