About Me

Thomas Harry, a versatile and accomplished multi-instrumentalist, he was born inHarrisburg, Pennsylvania, in the summer of 1991 and raised in Southampton on Long Island NY. From an early age, Thomas demonstrated his creativity through art, a passion that eventually evolved into a deep love for music by the fourth grade, marked by his introduction to the trumpet. His musical journey gained momentum throughout his time at Southampton High School, where he showcased his talent in numerous performances, mastering an impressive repertoire of five instruments by the time of his graduation. In 2013, Thomas earned his degree in music performance and jazz studies from Long Island University Post Campus, setting the stage for a remarkable career in the world of music. Post-graduation, Thomas secured a teaching position at Ninows Music in Riverhead, NY, providing valuable musical education until its closure. Undeterred by the shift, he redirected his career towards private teaching and performing. Over the past decade, Thomas has actively contributed to the Long Island music scene, participating in community events and collaborating with various local bands and artists. One particular achievement was his original band Earthreal, where the outreach of their local music reached nationally and started gaining popularityinternationally with fan bases in South America. With proficiency in an astonishing twelve instruments, including piano, guitar, bass, trumpet, saxophone, percussion, trombone, clarinet, flute, ukulele, and mandolin, Thomas is a true maestro. Exponential growth in his teaching methods have developed while teaching at music and arts to a private school, East End Arts in Riverhead NY over the last 5 years. Thomas continues to leave an indelible mark on the music scene, consistently engaging in performances and sharing his passion for music education.

Thomas P. is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Drum Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Vocal Lessons .

Formal Education:

Lebanon Valley College from 2009 to 2011-Studied music education classes learning percussion, ear training, choral music and jazz guitar, keyboard harmony and pedagogy trumpet along with brass studies. Excelled in performance and learning the ways around the instrument. Berklee College of music online 2011-Studied jazz composition which included analyzing jazz standards, improvisation and wrote/ recorded my own jazz standards. All songs recorded I performed by myself on all the instruments. Graduated from Long Island University Post Campus from 2011 to 2013-Graduated Cum Laude in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Arts with jazz studies. Honed in my teaching techniques and started getting into paid live performances which led to a successful decade in band directing and multi instrumentalist opportunities in a country, reggae, rock, blues and gypsy jazz band.

Private Education:

Studied privately with University instructors including Thomas Strohman from Lebanon Valley College, T.k Blue at Long Island University. Both in the area of jazz. Trumpet pedagogy with Roger Lee helped me hone in my trumpet studies.

Performing Experience:

Performances mostly in New York at venues including the Stephan Talkhouse, The Guild Hall of East Hampton, Great South Bay music festival-Tilies Center of the performing arts at Long Island University along with a bunch of other restaurants and venues all over Long Island for the last 15 years. Performed at and around Lebanon Valley College during my undergraduate studies. Vast experience in playing in multiple bands and in different genres and different instruments including guitar, bass, drums, mandolin, trumpet, piano and saxophone. Two original projects along with musician for hire in country, reggae, jazz, gypsy jazz and rock groups across long island NY.

Experience Teaching:

With over 15 years of experience starting at Lebanon Valley College peer tutoring, I’ve taught students of all ages and instruments at various levels. Private instruction included teaching guitar, piano and trumpet lessons that led me to teach at a music store called Ninow’s music. Taught at Music & Arts and East End Arts music and arts school in Riverhead NY along with a group class at the Little Flower school teaching guitar, bass, drums, piano, songwriting, saxophone and trumpet. Through my experience I’ve honed my methods and learned more instruments including flute and clarinet where success has followed at these music schools.
