Rachel began playing piano at the age of 6 and violin at the age of 10. Over the years, she developed her skills further by taking private lessons, playing in orchestra and mariachi, and participated in every musical learning event. She gained performance experience in the classical area by playing at such venues as regional orchestra, pit orchestra, and violin solo performances. She gained performance experience in the mariachi area by playing at such venues as the American String Teachers Association ASTA international conference Orlando, Florida, Arizona Music Educators Association AMEA conference, ASU Gammage, and Phoenix Symphony Hall and with acts such as the Viva Mexico Concert, presenting mariachi education, the Dia de Los Muertos concert, and the Preludes pre-concert experiences with the Phoenix Symphony. Though Rachel can teach many different genres of music, her musical personal favorites are classical violin solos, and mariachi which had a great influence on her style of playing. Rachel loves music because it brings peace to her life and allows her to bring the community together through performing for others and loves teaching music because she is able to help others find their passion for music and see how they are able to grow over time.
