About Me

Thomas began playing the saxophone when he was 12 years old. Over the years, he developed his skills further by studying at the University of North Texas and California Institute of the Arts. He gained performance experience in the Los Angeles area by playing at such venues as the Hollywood Bowl and with acts such as Solange and Billy Childs. Though Thomas can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are jazz, classical, and gospel which had great influence on his style of playing. Thomas loves music because it expresses his emotions and thoughts where words fall short and loves teaching music because he wants others to experience the power, beauty, and message of music. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Thomas can help you expand and enhance your playing. Thomas is excited to learn how he can help you reach your musical goals. What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

It partly depends on prior experience and the current musical level at the start of the first lesson. Ideally I want my students to excel in tone production, articulations, dynamics, dexterity, alternate/most appropriate fingerings for all notes, altissimo, songs/solos/etudes, improvisation of melodies within tonal harmony, reading music, rhythm, and expression/interpretation of music.
