About Me

Alison began learning piano at the age of 5, and participated in the prestigious Guild events. She made the Texas Music Educators Association All-State Mixed Choir in 1997 and 1998. After studying music education at Abilene Christian University, Alison taught middle school choir in Abilene, TX. Alison earned her Master of Music in Music Theory from the University of Oklahoma in 2007, and taught all levels of undergraduate music theory at Sam Houston State University, from 2. She then returned to the public education classroom, teaching choir to grades 6-12 in Trinity, TX. Alison once again left the classroom in 2018, and opened her own private music studio from her home studio in Huntsville, TX. It started as Huntsville Music Studio, but is currently Music Studio, LLC. Alison has been teaching privately for 8 years, with a total of 24 years in education, from the private studio to the college classroom. She teaches voice and piano to students of all ages and levels of experience, and welcomes students with no experience. Her youngest student is 3, and her oldest is 83. Alison has a passion for sharing music with her students, and has outstanding results in successfully teaching correct technique, music literacy, and music theory.
