For as long as I can remember, I have had a strong passion for music. Since the first time I heard music in my dad's pickup truck, I have been completely enthralled by it. As a kid, I was always creating making up songs and lyrics, humming melodies, and tapping out rhythms wherever I could. Even in elementary school, music was always the class I looked forward to most in school. I began taking music more seriously in middle school, where I joined band and started playing percussion. Over the years, I’ve performed on a wide range of instruments, including snare drum, bass drum, crash cymbals, and mallet instruments like xylophone, marimba, and vibraphone. In high school, I was a member of the front ensemble and also participated in concert band, where I played everything from auxiliary percussion shakers, triangle, claves, and Latin instruments to timpani and chimes. I was also involved in the school’s jazz ensemble, where I played both drum set and guitar. Beyond performing, I’ve developed strong teaching experience through multiple roles. As a member of the leadership team in my high school band, I served two years as equipment captain and one year as band captain. Through this role, I regularly worked with beginner students, teaching fundamentals, how to read music, develop timing, and learn by ear. Outside of music, I’ve also worked as an acrobatics instructor, teaching dance and acrobatics classes, as well as helping friends develop their skills. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and keep lessons engaging. Nothing beats sharing my passions through teaching. During COVID, I began focusing more on guitar and songwriting. Since then, I’ve written numerous original songs, released a full album, and collaborated with other artists as a session musician, artist, and producer. My interest in music naturally expanded into recording and engineering. What started with simple recordings on my phone in GarageBand has grown into a professional pursuit. I am currently preparing to graduate from Full Sail University with a Bachelor’s degree in Recording Arts. At Full Sail, I also work as a tutor, helping other students understand course material and develop their skills in audio engineering and music production using software such as Logic Pro and Pro Tools. As an instructor, my goal is to make learning music engaging, approachable, and tailored to each student’s interests. Whether that’s learning an instrument, writing songs, or understanding how music works on a deeper level.
