About Me

I got my first drum kit when I was 17 years old as a Christmas gift from my parents. I learned by watching YouTube music videos and drum covers to self teach myself to play. I was focused on playing baseball at the collegiate level, but would mess around with music with my friends Niall and Lance during the summer break. My sophomore year of college I was lifting and an accident lead to breaking T11 and 12 in my spine. I was paralyzed from the waist down and the doctors told me I’d never walk again. Determined to prove everyone wrong, I focused on kicking my kick pedal again. One night, a nurse named Gabriel came to my room. He touched my leg and told me I would walk again. Fast forward six months, I took my first steps. Even though my dreams of becoming a professional baseball player felt stripped away, I saw a light in professional drumming. Niall and Lance introduced me to their friend, Garrett, who needed a drummer for a band called Dead Words to travel internationally. I spent 10 years touring with this band and learning all the ins and outs of being a musician. I shared a lot of this with my students at School of Rock. During Covid, the band decided to take a break and I responded to a Facebook post about an alternative country band seeking a drummer. Today I play professionally for Broke String Burnett and also freelance for other aspiring Country music artists. I connected with Sam Sparks from American Idol through my journey and have since recorded with him. I've been a student of the drums for 17 years, touring, and playing professionally. It's been amazing, and I love introducing others to a passion that changed my life for the better. So, come sit down at the kit and let me show you a groove. Formal Education:

I graduated from Rockwall-Heath High School in 2010. After that I took some college courses, then left for tour in the middle of that. I'm now studying Architectural Drafting and am due to graduate with my associates in December of this year.

Performing Experience:

I got my first set for Christmas back in 2009, I was 17. Late start I know (lol). Since that day though, you can't pull me off of a drum kit if there's one around. After High School I took off on a DIY tour as a member of the band Dead Works. It was two weeks on the west coast. I was hooked. Came back, and they asked me to join the band. Two weeks later we took off for the east coast for three weeks. I was in heaven. Wasn't glamorous by any means, lots ofsleeping in the van. I loved it so much though that i contiued to tour with them for 11 years! Now I'm in more of the alternative country scene. More gigs there, and more frequent. 15 years of proffessional performing!
