Yunlong began studying classical guitar at the age of 15. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Guitar from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree in Classical Guitar from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University. At Northwestern, he received the Eckstein Scholarship and served as a graduate teaching assistant, where he taught non-major university guitar courses and received positive feedback from students. He has also received instruction from distinguished musicians including Meng Su, Shin-Ichi Fukuda, Lorenzo Micheli, Paul O’Dette, Eliot Fisk, and Bruce Holzman. was awarded Third Prize in Group E at the Swiss International Music Competition for Performers.
