Jared began playing percussion at the age of 10 and began playing drums at the age of 11. Over the years, he developed his skills further by being in a variety of ensembles, such as big band, combo, steel band, and wind ensemble. He gained performance experience in the Chicago area by playing at venues such as Cliff Dwellers and Clara, performing with acts such as Daydream, and through his own group. Though Jared can teach many genres of music, his personal favorites are jazz, rock, and Afro-Cuban/Brazilian, which have greatly influenced his playing style. Jared loves music for the fun experiences it provides, and loves teaching music for sharing those experiences with students and explaining how the instrument works. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Jared can help you expand and enhance your playing. Jared is excited to learn how he can help you reach your musical goals.
