I am a professional guitarist, engineer, producer, songwriter and an amateur mandolin player. My teachings have a large range, from formal book training to solely focusing on learning and playing songs. Whatever the student's main goal is. I have had multiple styles of teaching taught to me, and have learned many approaches to make sure the student walks away with gained knowledge.
Formal Education:
I had been a studio hand at IPR in Minneapolis, MN. I studied jazz and theory at MSUM in Moorhead, MN. I have also learned production, advanced theory and studio performance at Berklee in Boston, MA.
Private Education:
I have also studied under multiple private teachers, including Ted Larsen (Jonny Lang's teacher and bandmate).
Performing Experience:
I have performed in many venues ranging from community theater orchestra pits to opening for OK Go in front of a large audience. Other places include small jazz clubs, acoustic showcases and multiple studios.
Experience Teaching:
I have had a few private students in the past but have not taught too extensively. Many times it is a one off lesson, where the student wants to learn one specific thing or get a new perspective.
