Jess is at home in virtually any style of music, performing Billy Joel as easily as Beethoven, Garth Brooks or Grieg, Duke Ellington or Dvorak. Classically trained, he has dabbled in Jazz, while making a career as a full-time performer of Rock, Pop, and Country. He reads music, chord charts, and plays by ear, and loves sharing the skills needed to do all of the above. While mainly a performer, his love of music extends to teaching others who share his passion, whether a brand new beginner or an experienced vet, young or old.

Performing Experience:
In addition to performing with every style of ensemble (professional and collegiate jazz bands, jazz combos, orchestral and wind ensembles, etc.), Jess Mills has spent the last twelve years as a full-time performing musician on the "dueling pianos" circuit, ranging from San Antonio to New Orleans, Las Vegas and Reno, and currently owns and runs a dueling piano bar in Asheville, NC. He is also the Music Director of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, where he directs the choir, leads the MountainSong A Capella Men's Chorus, plays piano, and accompanies the Worship X Youth Praise and Worship Team.
Experience Teaching:
Jess began teaching students while in college, both children and adults. While focusing mainly on his performing career, he has continued to teach motivated and musically passionate students along the way.
