About Me

Hi, I'm Justin. I am a piano teacher here in the Austin area. With over 15 years of formal music education and training, my piano teaching experience covers the fundamentals of reading music, music theory, ear training and performance/sight-reading skills. I have learned a great deal in my 7 years of teaching private piano lessons. The ability to communicate complex subject matters to younger children is important to me. I teach all ages, all skill levels.

Formal Education:

I attended Berklee College of Music majoring in Piano in 2006. Prior to that I had over 8 years of formal piano lessons. I trained with Irene Hart located in Texas City, TX.

Private Education:

I've taught private piano lessons professionally for 7 years. I teach all ages and all skill levels.

Performing Experience:

I have over 17 years of performance experience. I'm a pianist/singer-songwriter. I love writing, producing, and recording music.

Experience Teaching:

My personal philosophy is that students should enjoy their piano lesson in a fun atmosphere through positive reinforcement and superior learning techniques. I do primarily teach piano, as well as music production/composition/improvisation. I can also teach organ, trumpet and euphonium at a basic level.
