About Me

I began playing guitar at the age of 16 and was instantly hooked. Right away I began playing in high school and church bands, started my own Christian rock group with my best friend, and started teaching myself music theory. I moved to Charleston, SC for college as an English major where I continued to play in bands and lead worship/play in worship bands in church. I played a lot of blues and rock with a little RnB thrown in. During my time in Charleston I made a living teaching private guitar lessons and music lessons for almost 7 years, averaging about 60 to 70 students a week. In 2012 I made the move to Nashville, TN with my wife where I worked as a songwriter and a professional guitar player until 2016. I played for a variety of artists in genres ranging from country, rock, RnB, to blues. I toured all over the country with different artists, including Dexter Roberts of American Idol fame, and Nashville up and comers Casey Edgar and Cort Carpenter. We opened for national acts like The Charlie Daniel's Band, Hank Williams Jr, Big and Rich, Love and Theft, David Lee Murphy, and Tracy Lawrence, to name a few. Now that my wife and I are expecting our 2nd child we're headed back to NC where I plan to continue to teach guitar and gig in the areas surrounding the small town I grew up in.

I have no formal music education.

Performing Experience:

I was a worship leader at New Heart Gathering in Charleston, SC and also played at multi-congregational gatherings regularly. I've been or currently am the lead guitar player for the T.Culler Band, Robby Cummings, Daniel Davis and Urban Instrumentalists, Quarter to 3, Allan Craig Miller, Cort Carpenter, Dexter Roberts, Casey Edgar, and Cathrine Parks and the Kindred Souls. The last 4 years I've played between 150 and 200 shows a year in Nashville, TN and on the road all over the country and in Canada.

Experience Teaching:

I starting teaching at the Tone Zone in Summerville, SC in 2001. I taught at Summerville Music Center for almost 7 years (2006 - 2012). During that time I also taught a large amount of home school students, some in their homes, some at a home school co-op, as well as music camps I put on through my church.
