I first picked up a saxophone 14 years ago, and I have played actively since. I tried out and was accepted into the U.S. Army Bands my Senior year of high school, and I have been a member of the 41st for 8 years now. I love all kinds of music, but I am most proficient in Jazz and Church music. I am competent in reading sheet music and chord charts, but I mostly play by ear. Most of my gigs I do not have music in front of me. Although my professional musical experience is mostly rooted in saxophone and vocals, I also play guitar, keys, and harmonica. I do a lot of home studio work on my free time as well.
