Hello! My name is Jon. I am a native to Charlotte, NC and found an interest in music at a young age. When I was 10 My Aunt stored her organ at my mother's house and lucky for me we kept it in my bedroom. I remember sitting at the organ sounding out my favorite Christmas tunes and movie theme songs. I didn't start taking music seriously until high school when I inherited my best friends "Hondo" acoustic guitar. I was self taught until college when I begin my music education with a brilliant instructor, Mike Pitts. With Mike I layed the foundation for what has become a fruitful experience with music and the guitar. With much encouragement I decided to attend Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC and study music performance with a focus on jazz guitar. I earned my BA in Music Performance in 2008. My music education has continued since then in my performing and playing locally. In 2010 I decided to set my eyes on teaching at the elementary level. I earned my North Carolina Teacher's license in 2011 and was hired as a second grade teacher at Reedy creek Elementary School in Charlotte where I taught for 2 years. Unfortunately my mother got sick and I had to leave teaching to be close to home. I began a management career at Harris Teeter in the deli/bakery where I currently still work.

"Jon is a great guitar teacher. Not only does he have a passion for music, he also has immense knowledge in music theory and technique and a desire to see you succeed. He's encouraging, and at the same time has high expectations for you. He will work with you based on your own goals/what you'd like to get from your lessons. He's patient and fun to work with too.
