About Me
Hello! My name is Kate and I just moved to Redding from Boulder, CO. For the last 8 years, I have been a touring musician, playing my music and teaching on song writing and other topics.
I have been playing the piano for almost 30 years, and the guitar for 17. I studied classical piano in college. I can teach most levels of piano, beginning guitar, and voice, or even a combination of these! I can also teach on song writing, which is my expertise.
I am very encouraging and positive, and really believe that beautiful things can come from every person. I will search for the treasure in my students until they themselves see it.

Kate Hu is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Vocal Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .Formal Education:
Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in piano, suma cum laude.
Private Education:
14 years of piano.
Performing Experience:
I have played hundreds of shows all over the world, including 7 small tours in Europe. I have played all over the United States. I had the honor of being one of the only independent musicians to ever play the main stage at Music in the Rockies in 34 years- a famous festival in Colorado. I have taught on songwriting and musicianship in many different countries for many different groups. I have made 3 solo CDs and have been on several award winning compilation CDs.
Experience Teaching:
I have been a guest teacher for different choirs and bands. I have taught several workshops all over the world on songwriting and musicianship. I am just beginning my career being a private teacher, and am excited to do this important work!
