Andrew enjoys working with students who want to improve their performance skills in violin and viola. Having taught years of private music lessons in viola, Andrew also developed an interest playing and teaching the violin. Besides teaching private lessons, he is also certified as a group music instructor through the Missouri String Project, an after-school program for Columbia’s third through fifth graders.
Andrew I has over 20 years of music experience in the Saint Louis area.
Andrew I is proficient in and teaches Orchestral Lessons .Formal Education:
Bachelor of Music in String Performance University of Missouri, Columbia (Viola Major, Violin Emphasis) Graduate studies at the Boston Conservatory--1 year polishing up violin and viola pedadogy concepts.
Private Education:
Missouri String Project--2 years (during undergrad taught after school lessons to classes of 3rd - 5th graders and created lesson plans).
Performing Experience:
I currently freelance whenever possible for gigs relating to weddings, business functions, etc. I mostly teach and am planning on going full time.
